Chingy Fringe is a Brisbane/Gold Coast–based tattooist who began tattooing in 2011. His style draws on the bold traditions of Western tattooing and the refined detail of Japanese-inspired design, marked by strong linework, heavy black shading, and striking red. Influenced by early 20th-century tattooing and the discipline of Japanese masters, his approach is timeless and grounded in craft. Alongside tattooing, Chingy is also exploring creative projects that open the door to work beyond the studio.

As someone of Taiwanese descent, the number 8 has deep cultural meaning across Asia. It’s often seen as a symbol of luck, prosperity, and balance. Its shape is continuous and unbroken, reflecting ideas of longevity and infinity.
